Although Patch has never worked with a band he says he would love the chance to do so if only someone would give him that opportunity. If you think he is good enough, why not take the risk and drop him a line: patch.jones@googlemail.com

Patrick (Patch) Jones is the co-founder member of the www.desktopmoods.com  web site. Born in London on 29th November 1949, he was one of six children; the third to be born. The second child in the family being the only girl, who died before his birth.

Patch left school at 15 years of age and lived on the streets of London until he was aged 17.

Patch went through a long period of unemployment through ill health during the 1980's. This led to a period of depression and he was encouraged to set pen to paper to rid himself of the melancholy rather than taking ever increasing strengths of drugs. This led to his creativity in poetry. "I find that, as with myself, many other people that write poetry write about something that they can relate to that does not necessarily have any bearing on the subject of the poem." An example to this would be the frustration he was going through and the psychological locked in feeling he had during his period of depression and feeling that nobody could understand what he was really suffering at the time. Today. Patch is in good health both mentally and physically and enjoys travelling in order to obtain more photographs for the Desktopmoods web site.

Up until recently Patch has only ever sung in Karaoke. Encouraged by a radio competition he entered and won he has gone on to complete the lyrics to "Blairs Ukulele" and set it to music with the help of Peter Hammond of "Stock Aitkin and Waterman" fame. Peter has helped Patch tremendously with his musical career. He still needs someone to recognise his talent and offer him a recording contract.

Patch has felt touched towards those that suffered in the past mainly the "Piper Alpha" oil rig disaster of 6th July 1988 and the more recent disaster of 7th July 2005. He wrote about the disasters in his poetry then set these to a musical background by narrating them. It was done in this way because he feels that such tragedies should not be sung about. Also those that suffered must never be forgotten.

Hopefully one day soon someone will discover the great voice and passion for singing that Patch possesses and give him the lucky break he deserves. His talent for writing can be observed more closely by visiting www.desktopmoods.com  and clicking on the button titled "Poetic Moods".
